Obituary

The family of Brian Nevius is now and forever heartbroken by his passing on August 22, 2022 in Delray Beach, Florida. He was 55. Brian was born to Donna and Joseph Nevius on February 16th, 1967 in Skokie. Because his birth was premature, he spent the first three weeks of his life in an incubator and was not expected to survive. But Brian beat the odds and emerged all the stronger for it. As a result, he became an all-around athlete and a soccer star on every team that he ever played for — most notably the William Fremd High School Vikings who famously won the Illinois State Championship in 1984. Brian went on to play for Columbia College in Missouri where he majored in business on a soccer scholarship. After graduating with a Bachelor’s Degree, Brian began his very successful, decades-long tenure as the Vice-President of Business Development at Condensed Curriculum International which provides affordable content and support services to over 500 educational institutions, corporate entities and community organizations. He loved to work hard and play hard. And by all accounts his co-workers and employees loved to work and play just as hard with him. Brian was loved and will be remembered by his parents, Donna and Joseph Nevius; big brother, Craig Nevius; longtime girlfriend, Toni Holland, and her daughter, Samantha Acquisto; as well as countless friends going back to grade school. Brian did the best he could to fight a prolonged illness and chose to do so in private, wanting to protect those around him and believing that he could handle it on his own. A chapel service will be held on Tuesday, August 30th at 10:00 am, at the Shalom Memorial Funeral Home with interment to follow at Shalom Memorial Park; 1700 W. Rand Road, Arlington Heights, IL, 60004. For additional information, shiva and a link to view the service online, visit Shalom Memorial Funeral Home, www.shalommemorial.org, 847-255-3520. In lieu of flowers, Brian’s family requests that you make a donation in his name to the worthwhile charity of your choice.
